Alright people! It’s been a while since my last post, but don’t think it means I haven’t been challenging myself!
Husband and I went to Peru for our late honeymoon at the end of September; traveled to the Amazon Rainforest, hiked up Huayna Picchu (the ginormous mountain behind Machu Picchu with an elevation of 8,920 ft!), and had dinner at one of the top Restaurants in the world! It was amazing to say the least!
But that was a month and a half ago!
Current situation is I’ve expanded on the 3 weeks to an 8 week challenge! Husband and I are currently in week 6! We’ve been super focused on clean eating, macros, and working out. To be honest, I’m along for the ride with this challenge. It is actually a regimen the husband is putting together for athletes (I’m doing a lesser version for a non-athlete, working woman!).
Here is what my past 6 weeks have looked like:
- Sunday: Rest
- Monday: Gym AM (weights)
- Tuesday: Gym AM (weights), 3 mile run PM
- Wednesday: Rest
- Thursday: Gym AM (weights), Yoga PM
- Friday: Gym AM
- Saturday: 4-5 miles run AM
Here is what my eating has looked like:
- 1,000-1,300 calories intake
- 50% protein
- 30% carbs
- 20% fats
It’s all pretty simple, just eat good and workout. It’s been tough though, and exhausting. I haven’t had much time to read or focus on some of the other things that were getting my attention prior to this 8 week bout. The most difficult thing is getting out of bed early to hit the gym before work. It’s cold, I’m sleepy, and my bed is so warm and cozy. On the plus side, I feel super awesome and strong, and I think the weight training is helping my distance running and yoga!
I’m proud of myself for committing to this challenge and I believe this week will be the toughest one yet! However, I am looking forward to being able to get back on a consistent reading schedule and sharing new ideas that spark fires in our minds. Our current motto is wake up, work out, eat, sleep, repeat or for a more motivational touch: discipline, consistency, hard work, repeat!
I’ll keep you posted!
