Read: Day 1. 7/19
It started as a typical Friday evening for the husband and I, dinner and drinks. 1 drink, 2 drinks, 3 drinks… Pondering over our usual conversation of how we will conquer the world. The amount of dissatisfaction over my current situation had been slowly plaguing my mind and seeping into every thought. Our desire to think outside society’s box, to live outside the box, and experience life on our terms constantly brought us back to the same discussion.
BUT! We had a brilliant idea! We would read!
A few years ago we had been re-introduced to the concept that in books we may find the knowledge to be great. We could read the words of individuals who are/were in their own right “enlightened”.
So we hurried home, frantically grabbed all the books from the shelves, and tossed them on the kitchen table. OKAY! We would read all of these books by the end of the year and then we will have our brilliant idea of how to get out of the rat race!
Fast forward to the next morning. I turned to husband and said “Are we really going to read all those books!” in disbelief. He smiled a half-smile of humor and amusement, and said “we have to try”.
So it began on Sunday, 7/19. Husband picked out my first book: How to Sell Your Way Through Life by Napoleon Hill. He started with The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. We started to read.
